Haunted Heartbreakers Cake

This cake was made for my daughter's end of the season Softball Party.  The Haunted Hearbreakers had an undefeated season; they also took 2nd place in the Labor Day tournament and 1st place in the Turkey trounament.  These girls played every game with lots of heart and 100% dedication, we couldn't be more proud. The cake is heart shaped chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream frosting.  Covered in red fondant, hand painted rag doll and softball. Not pictured are the vanilla cupcakes decorated to look like softballs.

Severed Hand

OK, so I can't take credit for this one.  My husband did this all by himself for a Halloween party we went to.  It is yellow cake with chocolate frosting covered with flesh colored fondant.  It has white chocolate bones sticking out and he airbrushed with red for the blood.  There is also crushed cookies and chocolate syrup for the dirt around the hand.

I made this during the holidays for a friend but forgot to post.  Vanilla bean cake, with a vanilla cream cheese butter cream.

Skateboard Ramp Cake

My daughter turned 7 years old and she wanted a skateboard ramp cake.  Since I don't have a kitchen I had to order the cakes pre-made from a bakery and bought chocolate butter cream.  It was 8 hours of work (without the baking).  I used a template to make the ramp look like wood panels and another template for the red walls to look like brick.  My husband also used the airbrush machine to add a touch of graffiti.

On Hold - New Kitchen in the Works

Last weekend we started demo on the kitchen so no cakes for at least 8 weeks (that if everything goes smoothly).  I know I will go through withdrawls but I will be taking a Cake Decorating class on Monday evenings.  I'm hoping this will curb the craving!!  I'll post pics of the progress soon.  Can't wait to bake in my new kitchen!
